You are being invited to participate in an instrument validation survey titled "It's TIME Validation". All Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) curriculum students are being asked to participate in this survey. This survey is being conducted by Erin LeGrand, QEP Director at CVCC.

Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary and you are allowed to withdraw at any time without consequence.

The purpose of this survey is to determine the reliability and validity of an instrument designed to assess students’ critical thinking abilities. If you agree to participate in this survey, you will be directed to an online questionnaire that will ask you to rate your feelings about fear of evaluation, your desire to evaluate information, your desire to have access to information, your desire to find information, and your desire to use information. This survey will take you approximately 30 minutes to complete.

You may not directly benefit from this the results of this survey; however, the results will be used as part of assessing future impacts of the Quality Enhancement Plan for the majority of students at CVCC.

All participants who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing for a Kindle Fire.

The risk for participating in this survey is minimal. However; there is always a risk of a breach of confidentiality when data is collected online. We have ensured that the data collected from this survey is password protected and housed on a secure platform. When you click the link to begin your survey, your Blackboard username and identifying information will be recorded. This provides the researcher with the ability to enter you into the drawing for the Kindle Fire. Maintaining the confidentiality of all survey data, Your identifying information will never be associated with your responses.
